PRP (platelet-rich plasma) for hair loss is an advanced cosmetic procedure that harnesses the power of your skin to heal itself.
The platelet rich plasma contains growth factors (such as TGF-beta, PDGF-AB, bFGF, IGF, VEGF and EGF) and bioactive proteins (globulin, albumin, fibrinogen), nutrients, vitamins, hormones and electrolytes which speed up tissue repair and regeneration.
It is made possible by drawing a sample of your blood, after which a centrifuge is sed to separate the platelets and plasma from the red blood cells. After this, the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is then micro-needled using tiny, fine needles to stimulate the scalp, to encourage new hair growth.
The treatment increases hair density and reduces hair loss. Improvements are seen within 90 days, with hair growth continuing to improve over 6 months.
A course of treatment involves 6 sessions of PRP with one session each month, over a 6 month period.
One maintenance session at £150 is recommended every six months.
